Marluc Bella Vita Ranch is a 188 acre wildlife, nature and sports retreat facility located between Jacksboro, Texas and Possum Kingdom Lake. We specialize in serving families, churches, business and group gatherings of all kinds. Our Lodge sleeps as many as 41 people (rated 35 people) and has four bedrooms down, each with a queen bed, upper twin, and a twin bunkbed so you can sleep as many as five guests in each of the four bedrooms or 20 guests downstairs. There are two dormitories upstairs. One has a queen, four twins, and two twin bunk beds and the other side has a queen, five twins, and two twin bunk beds. You can sleep as many as twenty-nine (21) guests upstairs. Total lodge accommodations is 41 (assuming two persons in queen beds). Lighted Parking is available for thirty (30) cars. The lodge has a fully equipped kitchen, two stoves, three sinks, three large refrigerators, two washers, two dryers, den with large TV, dining area with two tables, large fire pit with seating for 30 people, a propane bbq, a charcoal bbq, a classroom (seats 30) with large screen, upper deck (seats 12), water slide, trail restroom with showers, kids sand playground, rope swing, boat dock, greenhouse, minnow tank, small dog kennel, and large 12’x60’ porch (fish from the porch) with two restaurant booths and seating along the countertop overlooking the lake. Wifi and a bluetooth sound system on the porch are provided.
OUR FIELD HOUSE
The Field House is located at the sports complex about 1/4 mile from the Lodge and it has one queen bunk bed, a galley kitchen, a full size refrigerator with ice maker, a full bath with tub and shower, a small meeting room with large screen TV, wifi, a small fire pit and a charcoal grill . It is surrounded by our lit basketball court, sand volleyball court, monarch butterfly way station, pond, observatory, and baseball/soccer practice field with soccer goal , backstop and team and visitor seating with parking for 12 vehicles and an observatory with telescope.
OUR GUEST HOME
Our three bedroom guest home is located across the lake from the lodge and has a King size bed in the master bedroom along with a wood stove and two full size beds in the other bedrooms. The kitchen has a stove and microwave and large fridge and dining table, the small den has two couches and a widescreen TV. A computer and printer are available for guest use and the wifi is high speed. Outside there is a large covered patio with small fire pit, smoker and propane cooktop and seating for 6 people. The kids fenced playground is beside the patio. There is a two car port with a concrete pad for a large motor home and water, sewer and 30/50 amp power connection. Outside the front door is a wooded bird sanctuary with a frog and minnow pond. And below at the lake is a small, half-covered fishing dock.
OUR WILDERNESS ROOST
The Wilderness Roost is located in the remote section of the ranch to the north and has a full size bunk and a twin bunk to sleep four people. It has a full size fridge downstairs, a small fridge upstairs, a half bathroom upstairs and shower downstairs, an outdoor shower, propane stove in the shelter, BBQ and smoker on the porch, very large fire pit with seating, a large picnic table, BB range, and RV parking spot with water, sewer and power. The elevated porch has a great view of the wildlife feeder station, mineral pit and watering hole about 80 yards away in the grassy field. Sunrise and Sunsets are spectacular…
OUR EAST CABIN (INSPIRATION)
The our new cabin (we call it Inspiration) is on the eastern edge of the campus in the forest and has a king bed, two lofts each with twin bed, Both lofts are accessible by pull down ladders. The small kitchen has a apartment size fridge and microwave, counter oven and induction cooktop as well as a small kitchen table with four chairs. The bathroom has a tub/shower connection. A TV with built in Roku is provided as well as wifi and a bluetooth sound system on the porch. Built into the porch is a BBQ grill, smoker and on the terraced and fenced wall there is a small fire pit, a bench and two chairs. The sunrise view over the valley below is spectacular and the four-mile hike and bike trail (non-motorized) is just a short walk away.
OUR TOP-OF-DAM GROUP CAMPGROUND
The “Top-of-the-Dam” campgrounds is one of two Group Campgrounds at the ranch for use by families or camping groups. It can fit 10 tents or 5 small RV’s. It is rented out “all or none”. There are two utility stations with power and water, a 12′ x 12′ shelter, two fire pits, two large picnic tables, and a porta-potty. There is an area comfort station with toilets/showers within walking distance. The sunrise and sunset views at the Top of the Dam campground are spectacular and the fishing on the large rock shoreline is usually very good. A new dock is being added to enhance fishing and swimming and for kayaks and canoes provided by guests.
OUR REFUGE GROUP CAMPGROUND
The “Refuge” campground is one of two Group Campgrounds for use by families or camping Groups and it can fit up to 10 tents/small RV’s. It is rented out “all or none”. There are two utility stations with power and water, a tree house shelter withs bench and two chairs, a fire pit, two picnic tables, a parking lot, and a porta-potty. There is an area comfort station with toilets/showers within walking distance. The oak trees are beautiful.
OUR SECLUDED TENT/SMALL RV SITES
There are five secluded tent/small RV sites each with power and water, wifi, fire pit, charcoal grill and picnic table. Most of them can fit up to 2-3 tents or small RV units for small group camping and each are drive-through from the upper trail. All are located in the forested trails above the lake and crappie pond and all are near the four-mile hike and bike trail (no motorized permitted) and the comfort station with toilets and showers Please call Jim at 214-850-8778 for assistance with booking.
OUR MOTOR HOME EQUIPPED CAMPSITE (REFLECTION)
Our 29 foot class A Motor Home (we call the site “Reflection”) is connected to water, sewer, propane and power and has a queen bed and two singles along with kitchen, cookware and bathroom. Overlooking the lake on a wooded trail the site has a large firepit (complete with firewood), and a picnic table. The motor home has a large awning.
OUR TRAVEL TRAILER EQUIPPED CAMPSITE (SERENITY)
Our 16 foot trailer (we call this campsite “Serenity”) is installed permanently and is connected to water, sewer, propane and power. It has a full size bed and a small single bed and has a kitchen, cookware and restroom. There is an awning and blue tooth sound system. The campsite has a bubbling brook (seasonal), a fire pit, a shelter with charcoal grill and a large picnic table.
OUR PANORAMA CAMPSITE
Located on the highest part of the 188 acre ranch retreat this campsite (we call it Panorama) is about as secluded as you can get. The four-mile hike and bike trail (non-motorized) runs beside the campsite and the lake (with good fishing) and the sports complex is just a short walk away. A picnic table, power (20 and 30 amp). charcoal grill and firepit are provided on this large campsite that will accommodate any size of RV or motor home.
RENT IT ALL – Exclusive use of the entire ranch and all of its features including the gun range (open only for full campus bookings), our 8-person pontoon boat with life jackets, a six-person gas UTV, unlimited fire wood and cleaning charges is just $3,350.00 per night (two nights minimum). We offer a number of extras to enhance your stay at our ranch. Our eight-person pontoon boat comes with fuel, life jackets, and bimini. Price is $300.00 for unlimited use during your stay. Our six-person UTV is $300.00 for unlimited use during your stay and our four-person electric golf cart (2 rear-facing) is $150.00 for unlimited use during your stay. You can book these extras through our agents VRBO, AirBNB and HipCamp when booking other lodging.
There are five miles of all-weather gravel trails throughout the campus and another 4 miles of dirt and rock mountain bike (non-motorized) hiking trails winding around the forested lake and through the upper wooded meadows. There is a bird viewing station overlooking the upper pond, a platform bird feeder and a birdbath station. Five deer stands with heaters and seating are provided around the campus overlooking deer and wildlife feeding stations. The sports complex has a lit basketball court, sand volleyball, baseball/soccer practice field and it features a new observatory with telescope and is available to guests trained in the use of telescopes. Our new one acre crappie pond located below the lake was stocked in the fall of 2020 and has a shelter, bench, water and power as well as a charcoal grill. We also offer a gun range to guests who book the entire ranch campus and who place a licensed marshal in charge of the facility during its use. Finally, we have a horse stall with a small fenced pasture available for rent.
